Pick lupins, they say. Pick lupins, they say, and I agree. I picked the Lupinus polyphyllus for this project for its fascinating looks and because it is so very common in Finland. This showy wild flower is not only beautiful, but also highly invasive. I don’t know if there is need to go to the extreme and try to get rid of lupin completely, but by picking them you get big, beautiful and guilt free bouquets for your home and help reduce the amount of seeds the wild lupins produce.
When in season, the lupin definitely offers good material for floral design. In addition to its decorative attributes it produces nice green tones for natural dyeing.
